  • >90M reads are recommended to detect fold change differences for high expressers
  • Detection of alternative splicing events is challenging due to sampling noise, requiring nearly 500M reads (with 80% confidence)
  • RNA-seq is not digital and does not give absolute gene expression measurements
  • Microarrays and RNA-Seq demonstrate excellent concordance and should be combined for efficient transcript-level profiling.
